EQAVET Annual Network Meeting 2025 Poland
The EQAVET Annual Network Meeting was held on 12 and 13 June 2025 in Warsaw, Poland, at the Radisson Blu Sobieski Hotel.
The meeting brought together representatives of National Reference Points (NRPs) from across Europe with the aim of exchanging information and knowledge on quality assurance in vocational education and training. Events like this serve as a dynamic platform for dialogue, implementation of planned activities, and planning the future work of the network.
The meeting was opened by representatives of the European Commission and the EQAVET Secretariat, along with the hosts – representatives of the Polish National Reference Point and the Ministry of Education.
The central theme of this year’s network meeting was the European Commission’s initiative described in the strategic document “Union of Skills.” Commission representatives presented the key points of the document, followed by a discussion among all participants on how the EQAVET network and its working framework could align with the proposed ideas and objectives. Building on the Union of Skills, the EQAVET Secretariat and the Polish NRP host presented the current direction of development in lifelong learning (continuous vocational education and training).
The afternoon of the first day focused on another major trend in education – artificial intelligence and technology in general. The Basic Skills Action Plan and the Strategic Plan for STEM were highlighted as key documents in this area and are also part of the Union of Skills.
The second day began with a reflection on the previous day and a “Learning Lab” workshop on investing in quality education within the European Education Area. The EQAVET Secretariat presented updates on the network’s communication tools, including a new website and a community space on the MS Teams platform.
Special emphasis was placed on experiences from the peer review process and examples of good practice from four National Reference Points. Projects from the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, and Ireland were also presented, covering topics such as the use of data in quality assurance, digitalisation of peer review process, alignment of quality in dual education and inclusion of the learner’s voice.
The meeting concluded with final reflections and a shared commitment to continue working together to strengthen the quality of vocational education and training across the European Union.
